New Project - Sphere And There

Sphere And There

Matthew Richards - Guitars,Synths,Programming
James Hope - Spoken Word

Sphere And There sees me collaborating with local poet and producer James Hope. I met James at the end of last year, and have worked with him very successfully on his own music. It was only natural that we would decide to work together on something. The project is spoken word ambient, trip-hop grooves and all sorts of found sounds and sonic oddities. Driven by Hope's cryptic and intoxicating words and delivery, a 4 track EP is well on it's way to being completed. This will also be the first of my projects to go live very soon. I will be sure to post updates on that matter. In the mean time, you can listen to our first two tracks 'Dear Friend' and 'Fragile Freaks' below.

Dancing For Architecture - New Album

Hi,

Most who listen to my music (five guys in an Alaskan weather station according to online demographic statistics) under the pseudonym 'Dancing For Architecture' will know i have a new album out this year, in the Spring with a bit of luck.

The album is entitled 'Morphology' and features ten new tracks. I am very lucky to have a few great musicians playing on this album, with a couple of other guests in the pipeline and yet to be announced...

Colin Edwin of the Progressive Rock band 'Porcupine Tree' is contributing some seriously tasteful fretless bass on six of the ten tracks.

Dominic Thatcher, one of few people who plays all four saxophones to a high standard, is playing Bari through to Soprano sax on five of the tracks.

Josh Brown, a local 'musical theater' drummer with some very tasteful chops is playing on two of the tracks.

As i said, a couple of other guests are yet to be announced.

The rest is me. I am playing acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, synths, hammond organ, piano, violin, viola, glockenspiel, drums, percussion and i am responsible for the programming, which includes chopping up the kitchen kettle.

Take a listen to 'Glad In The Gloom'

The tracklisting for the album is as follows.

Quartz Qualm
Hymns In Azure
Copaxa -
Glad In The Gloom
Mountains
Aeronautics
Era
Messages On The Mimeograph
Oracle

Stay tuned.
